right guys i need help with a coupld of things, first up what rim wax/sealant do you prefer? i've been looking at the poorboys world rim wax, any good?
also i'm looking at trying some new wax and have been looking into the dodo juice range, there are so many choices so what would work best with a saphire black vec?
also what shampoo is best too? i was using turtle wax platinum series but i ran out and have used the mer shampoo that i had laying around?.

all help is very much appreciated and if you have any other choices then that is all welcome

I use autoglym shampoo mate, £15 from halfords, good stuff

Getting into the waxing side, going to try autoglym wax soon as only have 2 sets of cheap ones ATM

I'm sure there is better, but more money lol

Mate, I was told megs 16 wax is awesome on black, it comes in a very generous tin, I have not used it yet, waiting for warm weather for a clay beforehand.

As for shampoo I have heard different things and it depends what it is for. Interim wash or full detail etc.

Not asking much eh , lol.

Heard that wheel wax was pants. I used Megs#16 on mine and its still beading after using Dodo Mellow Yellow on it twice so that's working for me. Remember wax is not going to help keep brake dust off them.

Wax for the car. Well at the moment I have 3. AG HD wax, Dodo Diamond White and Megs#16.

AG Wax; Loving it, easy on easy off, very easy to use and as long as you buy of Ebay or Amazon, reasonably cheap at £25 for the Kit.
Dodo WD; Nice wax, as easy to use as AG HD was but generally more expensive. Dont get confussed with all the different colours its just a marketing thing. As a general rule of thumb buy the closest to the colour of your car. Black Id say Rain Forest rub. If moneys no object then buy the Super Natural, as long as the wife wont get upset at your wax beside the bacon and butter in the fridge.
Megs#16; Cheap as chips at around £10-12 off the net. Not as forgiving as the above waxes, you really really need to apply it very thin and do not let it go off as its a female dog to remove.

    Car shampoo.

Using Dodo BTBM, Dodo Sour Power and AG Shampoo and bodywork conditioner.

Dodo's are good but blooming expensive. AG doesnt produce enough suds for me. Best shampoo for the money ive tried so far is Zymol Auto Wash. Want to try Chemical Guys Maxi Suds II as well.

Black is hard to keep nice and clean mate

I don't know much about cleaning so don't listen to me lol

I am getting into it more and more and tend to use autoglym stuff but i am going to start to use different stuff now too, see what the difference is

I use Zymol shampoo, usually on offer at Halfords, good stuff but I intend trying Megs gold at some stage. I have just started using Megs #16 wax, on start silver it made a big difference. All down to personal choice and pocket though.

thanks dasarab i will bare all that in mind i have no wife as i'm only 22 and single living with the parents still so i need not worry about the wax in the fridge bit lol i was thinking about the purple haze but may go for the rainforest one as you suggested (going to try a trial pot off ebay about £7 for 30ml i think it was) and as for the shampoo i may try the dodo juice range, i've been looking at the sour power and basics of bling? both reasonable price i thought off ebay and as for wheel wax i may stick to the normal car wax then

maf you should be well into the detailing with a beauty of a car like you have!!

Well the difference would be a soft shampoo just to keep her clean so you don't take any of the products off when washing. ( I am only saying what I have been reading on DW)

But if your claying then a different shampoo should be used (Again from what I have been reading)

As for MEG's 16. I have heard it has to go on thin, but if applied right it looks the nuts, beads well and last's for a long time. Hence why I bought it. I have heard good things about dodo juice.

Like all this stuff I think the way you do it makes a big difference, plus the prep work.

Let me know when your gonna do a detailing day and Ill pop over, we can see what works best. As long as you have water lol
