Default 2.2 direct revs stay high from 1st to 2nd

Hi i am new to this site, used a site for my wife with a different car and found it very useful.
I have a Signum 2.2 direct petrol 2007 model manual gearbox. I bought the car just over 3 years ago with 6000 miles on the clock, it has now done 63000 with no problems. Except and it as done this since i got it,
when accelerating in 1st and changing to 2nd the revs seem to hover for a few seconds but by this time i depressed the clutch to change gear and you sound like a right amateur. This model does not have a cable fitted and main dealer as checked this twice when the car has been serviced.
I have drove vauxhalls for past 8 years but this is starting to get me down
    as it spoils the drive.
Does anybody have any ideas they would be welcome.
    Thanks

Hi I have a 2.2 direct and have not long changed it from a 2.5 v6 which i had for 6 years with a cable throttle, the revs on my 2.2 always go up every time i change gear, its like I have comne off the throttle too late before depressing the clutch, I have even checked the throttle pedel spring to see if it was stretched and not allowing the pedel to return quick enough, I thought it was me not use to an electronic throttle but mine might have a fault as well.

No chaps, that's how it is. You get used to it eventually.

ah well if thats the way it is better start learning to come off the throttle sooner before depressing the clutch.

Thanks for the replies i just thought it was mine, you do get used to it but if anyone has any more info it would be interesting. Do other petrol models do it or are diesels the same as well.

Even the 3.2 does it. Is it part of the drive by wire (Electronic throttle) lag? Or is it something else?

When I test drove a couple of 150 diesels they did not seem to do it, they had other faults instead!!
