Can you see this with the naked eye?
O yes, Superb site discovery just in front of the space station as they had seperated earlier today.

Yes, providing there are no clouds
I remember seeing a Space Shuttle flying over Scotland in daylight, however it has to pretty much be overhead to see it, but was quite easy as it was the only thing moving and quite different from a high flying aircraft which we quite often get over Scotland
Hopefully there will be further chances to see the other Space Shuttles during their last flights throughout the year
wish you had warned us earlier gutted I missed it
Register on here and it lists whats in the sky that you can see like the space station and other satellites etc: www.heavens-above.com

If you are in southern England, then you can usually see the space shuttle shortly after launch
During the launch, listen for :
Houston - "[number] Morón (prononouned ma-row) engine"
Space Shuttle - "Firing the Morón engine"
Then go outside and wait, shouldn't be more than 5 minutes
Frightening really, eastern USA to England in 20 minutes!

Morning launches are the best, and night launches can be seen from Scotland as well

I remember seeing one of the Space Shuttles (maybe Challenger) piggyback a NASA 747 flying overhead my Primary School in Glasgow.
I think it was circa 1982. Really low, a couple of thousand feet up, and a sight i'll never forget.
I was hoping to see a launch when i'm out in Florida at the end of this month/beginning April, but the sods at NASA have delayed it until April 19th now.
Sorry mark but the original poster on another forum only posted up at 19.07, by the time i saw it 10 mins later i had little more time than post the thread on here and leg it to the window after grabing camera on route before it appeared .
