My latest drama.. the air con

Im having a problem, the air con compressor kicks in but it doesnt get cold.

I've not looked into it yet, was just after a point in the right direction. Is there a valve in the refrigerant lines to test its pressure? Are their any common failing areas on a 2006 1.8 sri?

Yeah i would agree.

I had an astra a few years back, someone told me if it needed a re-gas the aair con would not work at all.

Turned out they were wrong. It took a lot to refill again, and was giving exactly the same symptoms.

Try shopping wround though. I found a local 'air conditioning specialists' charging a lot more than a local garage.

According to the handbook if it's below a certain temperature outside, the aircon is designed not to work, maybe worth waiting until you have a warmer day.

Take it to kwick fit for regas if they can't get it cold they don't charge and they do leak tests too.
