Default V6 CDTi pulls like a rubberband

    Hi

I have just changes the turbocharger on my V6 CDTi. It was drinking oil. I then have a spare engine which has covered 60.000 miles where there is a turbo attached. The engine that I have in spare has a timebelt damage, so no damage on the turbo.
After 6 hour fitting the turbo the engine was spinning again. But it now feels like it´s being pulled with a rubberband attached. This only shows when I floor it.
No spannerlight at all. Starts perfect and dosen´t smoke as much as the old turbo did. It also pulls like is should beside the feeling of being pulled in a rubberband.
Even my wife looked at me and said "what´s that??" when we were both on a drive.

Does anyone know what could be the issue.
    LMF?
    Boost sensor?
    Injectors?
    anything else???

    Would appreciate any answer.

    Thanks lads...

I´ve just read in another thread that is could be blocked SCV´s

When the engine just is startet it sometimes drops in revs and goes up to normal revs again...
I can hear a little high noise when flooring it. It goes up and down in sound when flooring it. It´s also very notisable when you put the window down when flooring it.. also at even speed it goes up and dowun in sound and pulling.

    could it be SCV´s

That sounds like the turbo is switching on/off/on/off/on/off
This is a symptom of a blocked SCV

    Ok I thought so...

Then I have to book time at OP and let them check it for it.

Very strange it should come after changing the turbocharger... or maybe not.. I don´t know...

If dirt has got into the fuel system, then it eventually ends up at the SCVs, accumulates and blocks it

Finding a mechanic with experience of the Isuzu engine will greatly help

Im having similar issue on my 1.9CDTI [150] the turbo kicks in sometimes but not others then in 1st and 2nd then in the higher gears I can hear it spooling up then it drops off and there is a slight tug back.

Does this sound like a symptom of blocked SCV's and also what are SCV's?

SCV stands for Suction Control Valve and is placed in the fuel pump...

Could some injector cleaner such as BellAdd, Redexx or simular maybe help losen the dirt and clean the valve. Or is it "done" if the dirt hits the valve...

I also read that changing fuelfilter maybe could do the work. t could be blocked or very dirty...

Just checked when the fuel filter was changed...

    7. Oct 2010 at 181.700km ~ 113.500 miles. The car has now covered 195.000km ~ 122.000 miles... so approx 10.000 miles...

It could be, I've never heard of blocked SCVs on this engine
    SCV - Suction Control Valve
Diesel engines have these to determine how much fuel is required between the fuel pump and inlet valve, and to prevent back pressure

Normally there is one per cylinder
However, in car engines they are mounted as part of the fuel pump, so can be reduced in number so are typically one in four cylinder, two in a six cylinder, and so on
