IMO get the airbox mod done first. Piece of cake, takes only 5 minutes, and it's free. More gains from that than from a change of panel filter IMO.

is it not worth changing the panel at the same time as doing the mod?

I got over 220 bhp from my old 04-plate 2.0T with everything standard on the car, including standard panel filter and exhaust, apart from a BSR Stage 1 remap and the airbox mod.

Some say the airbox mod improves/increases airflow and that having a different panel filter would not make a noticeable difference.

I was so pleased with the results I got, I decided not to try changing to a K & N.

    Up to you, mate.

I did the airbox mod on my CDTI 150 and I noticed it was a bit more responsive......then I remapped it. LOL
