    Angry Aircon - rubbish??

Not sure if it's just me but I've had this with both my SRI's

I had my aircon re-gassed at VX last July - used it thru summer (although not particularly cold when used) and tried it today and not working ... would not blow cold. This happened the same in my last car Seems I will need to re-gas every summer?!!

My dad has an X reg celica which he's owned from brand new and not once has he needed to re-gas his aircon. I blast mine every week or so in the winter to keep it used

Is this normal? does anyone else have this problem?

The problem with AC is that it needs to be run at least every month to ensure the seals in the system stay soft if not they dry out and let all the gas out.

I try to always switch the system on every few weeks even when it is icy cold as the AC does dry the car out ultra quick when it gets condensation inside

Sounds like you have a small leak. If it hasn't been run correctly before you owned it then there is a good chance the seals have dried out already etc.

Both of my 03 vx's never needed re-gassing.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I've owned it from 6 months old - regularly use the aircon too. Just odd that both cars suffer the same problem

I know for a fact my dad does not use his aircon for 6 months of the winter period.

I'll get the seals checked (but VX did this last year, but then it was VX so they probably guffed that as well)

Would I be right in saying I could retunr and get this sorted for free?... less than 12 months since the job was done?
