    Default spring sleeve mod

Hi folks-just wondered if when doing the spring sleeve mod is it possible to compress the springs enough - while still in situ to simply do the sping mod sleeves as it would save having to take everything out too!!

?? was thinking in must be doable with 2 compressors on each spring at one time as it only needs to be compressed far and long enough to slide the sleeve on?? any advice would be handy ;-)

I would think it would be far easier to drop the strut out, fitted my springs the other week and put new plastic sleeves on, If you can compress em far enough while on it might be possible but a faff. Give it a try, if not your half way to taking it out anyway lol

You'll struggle to get the spring compressors in place with the strut still on the car.

You won't need to remove the springs, just remove the strut, raise the spring off the bottom seat using the spring compressors, slide the sleeve on and then remove the compressors and refit the strut.

cheers guys- gonna try to do it the lazy way and if that fails i'll be prepared to do it the right way lol

just wondering how come the springs jump as they are compressed and the gap between the top and bottom of the strut should never be longer than the spring.....and also as the whole strut and spring assembly turns as one.......
