Default Can anyone give me an answer

It's regarding the swirl valve issue on earlier vectra c and signum models it's a simple question but I can't find the answer

It's such a common problem and vauxhall know about it and have upgraded the inlet manifold to cure the fault so why are vauxhall not taking any responsibility for this. I have searched forums and google and have been to my local dealer and all I got from them was a load of gargun which was basically them saying it's your problem deal with it but we will fix it for the same price as my mortgage

Sorry for the rambling on but just want a decent answer
    Thanks sebadee

Simply because the guarantee is 3 yrs or 60k not a lifetime mileage or years warranty.

Saying that at just over 3yrs and lower mileage some on here have got great service from vx and pay a slight contribution which really was small.

All dealers have there problems and vauxhall have this just look at the Toyota re calls.!

Many marques suffer swirl valve issues with no replacement. It seems that the vx is a gamble on how, when and where it happens. Other marques like Chrysler for instance, it's a 100% dead cert. The 300c crd suffers terribly from it, costs a fortune and always makes the car undriveable.

Toyota were saftey issue were they not? Vauxhall did similar with a hand brake issue some time back.

These manifolds are a problem but out of warranty it's no longer there problem.

It's nothing new im afraid just dig deep no holidays for another year like the rest of us.

Exactly that. The inlet manifold issue isn't safety do you cannot really compare the two.

Besides it only effects a small amount of these engines as there are 100's of 1000's out there.

When I worked for BMW it was fairly common for the 6 cylinder diesel engine to eat its own swirl flaps damaging cylinder head, pistons, valves and possibly turbo also.

The manufacture is responsible for giving you reasonable usage for your money, this could extend for upto five years regardless of their warrenty. If you bought the car second hand then you have no come back but if you bought it new, you can chase them for the costs.

Vauxhall have an attitude for the customer to pay for their field design remedies The customer finds the fault and also pays for the replacement Take the wipers mechanism - I've never had a car where this fails yet every vectra has the problem!! Mine was just 3 years old when mine failed - totally unacceptable. Toyota at least admit a design error and pay for the repair irrespective of the age of the vehicle .

quite simply, if V feel that there is no design fault then they would NOT change the design of the failed part.

VX have a lot to learn, this is why the far east are taking over the world in regards to business and acumen.
