Angry Door won't open - Help Please

    Hi Everyone

I recently had to change the passenger door on my car. I swapped it over but did not swap the control box from the old door to the new.

Anyways, the door opened and locked for a few days manually, but never with the central locking.

I tried to program the central locking with the key fob trick but nothing happened. I read on the forums that I need to change the control unit on the door.

So, yesterday, I went to do this and the blinking door won't open. The door won't unlock by any means. Is there anyway to unlock the door? Will changing the door control unit do this ? Can my vaux dealer unlock the door ?

    Any help would be great...

    It hasnt deadlocked has it?

This happened to me on a rear door once.....I got close to having the door cut open and replacing the door, but then afaffed around with locking, central locking and deadlocking, and eventually it un-deadlocked and opened!

have a play with the deadlocking via the keyfob, deliberatly deadlock it etc, close the windows with the key and re-open etc and hopefully it may come undone!

    Best of luck!

    Thanks for the advice.

I got the seat out and opened the panel enough so I could get at the base unit ( black box on inside of door). I swapped over the base unit from the old original door and the door un-locked. phewww....

Default Rear Door deadlock stuck on

My rear passenger door will not open - Vectra 2003.
When I try to open dead locks all other doors make noise and have slight vibration but not on this door.

I have managed to get the door panel off - any ideas of how to attack the deadlock?

I had exactly this problem Steve. I got as far as getting the door panel off, and everything seemed to be working fine. I gave up as it was getting dark. Then the car wouldn't lock with the central locking so I tried with the key in the lock (like the old days, lol) which still didn't activate the central locking. However, the button on the central locking then worked and all the doors unlocked and opened as normal!

I'm not sure exactly what I did, but it's still working properly a week later! Today's job is putting it back together!

    Door now open!
I shaved the insulation of the wires going to both locks and with a DVM, realised that a signal (short pulse) was being sent to both deadlock and normal lock at the correct times. Resistnce of both solenoids looked ok. Cut wire to deadlock and tried forcing it open using a 12V battery; this caused to deadlock to make a sound like it was moving but still would not open.

I got a replacement lock off ebay from South West Vauxhall ( breakers) and got my local backstreet garage to fit it, which they duly did with the aid of a big hammer.
