sorry for being dim but are they the tops of the stuts in the engine bay? ordered my droplinks and going for bushes tomorrow so would get a set of these maybe while doing the rest. cars done 97k miles on original parts apart from springs and shocks so anything not too expensive may help.

They are underneath part of the strut , right under what you can see from under the bonnet but the strut has to come out to change, sorry if that makes no sense!

The bearing it between the top of the strut and the turrets in the engine bay.

If you are changing the drop links and bushes, be as well to get them done at the same time. (And even get a set of Eibachs...) Will tighten up the front end and [hopefully] make it feel like new again.

When the drop link is removed, it is only 2 large nuts and 3 smaller torx to get the strut out and then just the top mount nut to remove. Sounds a lot but worth doing IMO.

Out of interest, what's the symptoms of a knackered top mount bearing? I got two new ones which I'm fitting tomorrow along with arb bushes... Trying to cure a juggling rattle....

    Cheers guys!
