Default Glow plugs - 120 cdti (2004) vectra

    Righto

Having found the cause and ansewer to most things to do with this car on this website, I though I would try again.

Having rached 89,000k in the car, i thought it best to have the CAM belt changed last week. Just before it was due to go in, the alternator light came on as well so this was also changed (beyond my D.I.Y skills unfortunately). Once running, the car is fine but getting it started in the morning is a pain. Its turning over, just not quite kicking in. The mechanic (who did the laternator) has said that there is a problem code for the glow plugs showing up however, I believe there is a "glow plug warning light" which I presume would be flashing like crazy if they werea ctually goosed?

Is it worth just changing the plugs or could there be another reason?

    Cheers in advance

The usual indication of a glow plug failure is for the car and spanner light to remain illuminated for 3 or 4 minutes after the car has been started from cold.
