Could some one just confirm what grading of oil I need please?

Brand recommendations welcome : )

5w-30w fully synth, vx own brand is good & can be found cheaper on ebay, asda have just ended a sale of castrol magnatec 5-30 fully synth for £10.

Are there diesel/petrol variants for 5-30? or put another way Can I use 5-30 fully synth in petrol and a diesel engine? (One oil for both)

same oil, i use mobil 1 5-30 oil, got 4 bottles of it in asda for 15 quid each would have bought more but it was all gone
