Insurance Through The Roof

Seriously considering of getting rid of the vectra i'm sad to say...why car insurance....it's gone through the roof,

I'm 35 partner 46 so hardly younganyway had a fault claim last september where a cyclist jumped a set of lights and hit the front of the car...quite a bit of damage to be honest...nobody to claim off so the insurance co say...quote now £1136 for fully comp..legal protection..pnc of 6yrs...

£118 a month..from £49 what i have been paying...i know car insurance has gone up but ****** hell...massive jump

Women on the phone said at least we know of the claim you would be surprised how many are ringing in when a letter lands on their mat referance undisclosed previous accidents and their premiums have to go up for this...apparently every new client nows gets put through the system to check for previous undisclosed history rathen than when a claim arises so i was informed...

What do you guys think...about right or over the top considering?

I take it you have used the comparison sites and shopped around? Mine is due at the end of this month and by doing a quick search on confused.com im looking at a £100 saving if i change insurer.

well thats about the same if not more than what im paying for my car im 22 with 2 years NCB and six points

Seems their using the 'fault' claim as the reason why its gone up so much

Im 26, just got my policy from £50 a month down to £39, haggling works wonders lol

That is taking the biscuit. I do not think you need to get rid of your vec for that. Shop around, play them off each other. I cant beleive you were paying £49 pm anyway, that is mental where on earth do you live. over £100 may as well not be worth living I would not expect a 21 Yr old boy racer to pay that much.

Sorry not a rant at anyone, but insurance takes the ****!!!!!!!!

i didn't realise until recently how much a difference your postcode makes. it's massive. some people in their 50s with impeccable driving records can't get insurance for under £700 now! just because they live in certain areas. it's gone mad
