lorry driver will say (and prob true) that he didnt know he hit anything. Generally lorry drivers are good and polite drivers, but like everything there are a few bad ones. And no, i dont drive one.

Well I do,and there's no excuse for what he did.We have the benefit of a high level of training before we take our tests and are allowed out on the roads, and to pull away without looking in his mirrors is totally unacceptable. It gives us all a bad name, but,as said,he will probably say that he knew nothing about it.Best of luck. FELIXX.

I dint drive one but do work for a pretty big logistics company and this does happen slot where as in a car you can feel the slightest knock a lorry driver would be oblivious, and believe it or not you do get people looking for any excuse to claim on an old accident they may have had.

But if you have been struck and can prove it the driver will be dealt with I'm sure and the company made to pay up.

Just be thankful it's only the wing mirror and not a safe-T bar scrap down the side of your car ripping it open like a tin can.

    Good luck.

I agree with you on this one FELIXX, i drove " artic,s class one,s" for 20 years and what i have seen would put most people off driving for life. I remember coming down the M4 from Heathrow past Northolt towards the Hammersmith flyover, fully freighted 44 tonnes gross loaded with paving slabs. I had to turn left into a narrowish side street, lined me self up and started the left turn, what i did,nt know or relise is the the young lady driver that tried to overtake my trailer. She got hooked up on the corner of my trailer, i did,nt feel anything and dragged her in her Citroen AX down road with us. It was,nt till i straightened up i saw her, the last i heared she said she was never going to drive again, that was after the Police told her she was going to be summons for careless driving. I have seen careless lorry drivers also, and i believe the member who started this thread may have a case as such, Good luck....

when you have a 45 foot trailor behind you, you would not even feel a big smash lorries alway have sticker on back of trailor advising push bikes are cars to beware cause a lot of room is needed when turning out of junctions and overtaking.
no lorry driving would get done for hit and run after knocking a wing mirror of as i am a lorry driver the best thing you can do is ring up the company ask to be put through to the transport manager and let him no what happened ,9 time out of 10 the company will pay out rather then go through there insurance
