    Default a good deal???

weve been out today looking at new cars and visited our local evans halshaw. they have offered us a 06 signum 1.9 cdti (150) nav for our car, £5000 cashback and payments of £270/m for 3 years, im still trting to work out if this is giving me a good price for my car or should i sell it private. how much do you think my 04 2.0T would be worth private and p/ex, not book prices.
    this is my car

£240 over 5 years seems a bit excessive to me...

why are they giving you 5k cash back - why not put this on the car and reduce the payments / term?

That's exactly what I was thinking Ian!

£240 x 60 months = £14,400. I know there is interest in there but your £5k cashback must be coming out of your own pocket in the first place with that amount of payments!!

Get them to show you what the payment terms are, the actual amount of credit, interest rate etc, total interest that you'll pay - they have to by law.

Sounds as if you are just financing the Signum mate?

Also I have never met in the used car department such an ignorant bunch of ******s than I have in Evans in Boro.....

Vectras are starting to plummet in value mmassively now, especially the prefacelift.

It looks to me like they are giving you £6500 or thereabouts for your car Wayne.
Using £1500 as deposit on Signum, then 60 x £240 and the £5000 cashback, not too bad a deal depending on interest rate etc.

Dealers will try this type of deal as you get £5k and they earn much larger commision from the finance house on deals over £10k

May be worth considering as pre facelift models residual values are declining rapidly
