Default Which would say is right

was in the dealers today and asked them this, logbook says z28net, epc says z28net

however, RPO/POC list lists the engine spec as z28nel and the plate by the door says 169kW.

Vauxhall tech started with 'it is an NET engine' then I told them to try the RPO/POC list

There final word was, only Vauxhall could tell you and as its a bit old now they probably wont look into that far for you.

Car is a 56 plate Signum Design, I think it is an NEL engine, what do you reckon?

It doesn't make a lot of difference as they are all pretty much the same but with different maps.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Aye, I know but it's just one of those things that would annoy me, not knowing

    NEL 230 bhp (ish)
    NET 250 bhp (ish)
    NEH 280 bhp (ish)

irrelevant of which car it is in

the VXR vectra came in two different guises NET & NEH, the NEH being the later ones.

The 2.8 Signum also came in two different guises NEL & NET, the NET being the later one, as best as I can find out the change in the signums happened around 06 which is the year of my car hence the confusion

as Big Sig has said though it's all just differences in software (VXR also has funky suspension which changes on hitting the VXR button)

Had a look at EPC and the RPO/POC list descriptions, and also looked at the TIS for any info.

Just from the RPO/POC descriptions, as you say it says its the NEL engine.
However it also says it's the NET engine (on a different page). As the POC list is for all the trim, fittings and components fitted on your car. I'd say you have the Z28NEL engine in your Siggy.

Its definitely the Z28NEL matey the 230bhp model. Mine says the same on the car pass and booklet etc but the 169 kw equates to roughly 226bhp. The year it changed was 2007 not 2006 too.

cheers guys, figured as much. Thought VX may have been able to read it off the tech 2 today when they had it hooked up, but the question of engine codes appeared to be a new one on them.

Guess it will just make more of a difference when I get round to mapping it.
