    Default Removing signum gear knob

    I need to replace the gear knob, are they bonded on? or is it just screwed on very tight

    from what i know rich, it's a case of getting a hacksaw to the existing one and replacing it with new.

    afraid that's the only way to do it- best left alone......i think so!!!

    IIRC, remove the trim from around gator.... release gator from console, and pull up over the gear knob.
    under the gator you will see a black collar with a spring.. just above the spring there is two clips, press them in and the knob will pop off. ...

    i'm not sure about replacing the knob with an aftermarket one tho, as when the knob is removed it also comes out with part of the selector assy.
    replacing like for like shouldn't be a problem.

    the leather on the gear knob has come unstuck, i may just have to restick it, but i could end up making a mess of it. i rang a dealer who thinks they are bonded on and therfore requires a whole new lever, £100.
