    Default Selling a broken laptop, will removing HD protect my data?

    After a bit of advice, I am selling a laptop for parts as it's nakard, if I have removed the hard drive, will that have removed and protect all my personal data?

    Yes mate, there are also various free softwares that erase the hard drive pretty efficently so you can sell the HDD too this method is not 100% fool proof but its beyond the means of most people to recover the erased data.

    Yes mate and if you wanna wipe it fast put it with some magnets I'm a bag for a few days
    Vectra vxr custome remaps egr deletes dpf and diagnostic work all remaps are custome bench tuning avalible all genuine equipment PM for info

    Removing the Hard Disk will protect your data. If you are sensitive regarding the data then don't sell the laptop with the Hard disk still fitted - that is the only fool proof way to protect your data.

    Someone once told me that the only certain way you have of making sure that the HDD is rendered U/S,is to take it out,and smash it to bits with a large hammer!!!.FELIXX.

    Yes, simple as. Selling your old hardware minus the hdd will leave you safe enough.

    You can sell it with the HDD in place and still be safe - you can remove it, connect it to another laptop as an external drive and format it to your heart's content, then reinsert it.

    I have managed to recover data from a drive that was formatted 9 times, one after the other. It is possible if you've got the correct software to do it

    Was talking about when he sells the laptop not to sell it with the hard disk.
