Towbar electrics, how does the GM kit work? have i installed correctly?

Hi, I am new to this site and looking for a bit of info please
I have a 55 plate Vectra C Design and have installed a genuine GM towbar wiring kit. From the info in other threads i think i need to get this tech 2 programmed as when the trailer is plugged in the dashboard bulb failure light comes on, however, all of the lights do actually work. Can somebody confirm this is the case?
Also how is the trailer electric system designed to work, i can’t see a repeater light in the manual that is supposed to come on when the indicators flash, is there some sort of buzzer?
Also any idea of what Vauxhall main dealer might charge? Or would it be best to go to a local garage that might have the equipment?

I cant seem to find the thread, but i am sure i read somewhere there is a way to get the towbar electrics working correctly by removing fuses and ignition on/off.

Hopefully someone who knows about his will post up.

have tried the hard reset, does not work on mine.
does the engine have to be running?

Phoned Vx this morning, they want £82+VAT to program.

Local grarage will do it for 30-40 quid, but cant do for a while, I know its not technicaly legal - but could i damage the car electrics if i run it without being programed for a while? All of the lights do work, just bulb failure light is on.
