    Default New EGR...?

So car started running like a bag of poop (no power before 3000rpm, no pull at all and had to drop to 3rd going at 50mph to move on the motorway) on the 18th Feb after a full service the day before and did a bit of looking into it with the help of Dan BlackSRI we found that the inlet swirl bar had fallen off and left 4th swirl to be jammed while 1 and 2 were freely moving on their own on idle . So an inlet was ordered along with a gasket on the Monday 21st, while I was waiting for it to be delivered the spanner light came on on the Thursday.

So had the inlet fitted this weekend and the spanner light no longer appears it seems, the EML appeared though. So started her up, still sounded bad and still had no power below 2,200rpm now. Started her up this morning and the EML had gone and still no sign of the spanner light but still running like poop.

So new EGR then? Tempted to try the temp fix of a tin to blank it off to see if I have power before I spend yet more money to fix. Also ABS light is still on after I replaced the hub for the ABS sensor, so still have the wiring to check.

Edit : Forgot to add, reason I think EGR is the low power, the juddering engine turn off and the classic noisy diesel noise.

As I said in the PM, temp blanking the EGR will eliminate this is a cause.

You have new vac hoses, obviously no DPF and providing the inlet change was done as it should be, then the EGR is the leading culprit at this stage.

You can buy made up blanking plates off of ebay for about £4.00.

Seriously though, give it a go (I really don't have much time during the week), just don't overtighten the EGR bolts.

The EGR's are a pain once they start to show some grief

I tend not to buy what I have had already (he says having a ZT a few years back) but I did like my Vec and loved the looks, but a return to VX wouldn't be out of the question in the future

Bought said blanking plate after doing the "tin" fix on mine and cured all the power issues.

Gonna head to RS Tuning next month and get it mapped out
