    Default turbocharger chattering/blowing/hissing? advice

recently upgraded from a z20net turbo to the td04 b207r turbo, after 200miles of so the turbo is chattering/blowing/hissing noise when reving or driving.
not sure if its maybe the gasket has gone or maybe manifold has cracked. hmm or the actual turbo is goosked.

Perhaps the intercooler has developed a leak?

Unlikely the turbo has failed after such a short time unless it has been starved of oil.

i would be checking the boost/intercooler pipes for leaks.. start with the short angles reducer pipe on the bacl of the engine, this goes fromthe compressor housing to a boost pipe, they are know to give way near the joins... the way to check/work on it is from underneath the car, if the car is not cold be very careful as the downpipe is very close and you will burn your hands

sounds like a boost leak to me, just like one I had. I will be replacing that pipe and the others with silicone jobs very soon as when i checked them on friday afternoon they are swollen and mishapen and that back one seems to have deteriorated again

oh right you just changed the turbo... am very familiar with doing that kind of thing on a z20net.. the boost is much higher for the hoses and they can be blown off, defo check all hose joins..
