    Default eml & limp mode???

    Hi

my eml came on this morning on the way home from work. The car has also gone into lmp mode!! It starts & seems to run fine apart from being in limp mode!!

Now this may sound like a daft question but could it be something to do with the fuel tank being almost empty??

Now i'm not 1 for letting the fuel get low. I was going to call at the petrol station on my way home from work at 6am as my usual petrol station is really quiet at that time. Got there & it was shut!! Now I know there's no oher petrol station open at that time on my 9 mile route home.

I needed to call in at my mums house so thought there may be 1 open near her. There wasn't. Within a mile of getting home the eml came on & car went into limp mode. I'd had a reeeeeally steady drive to sve fuel as by this point there was only 7 miles left in my tank! Like I said, i've never & i mean never in 20yrs of owning cars ever had a fuel tank this low!!

I get home, go to bed, get up this aft. Started car ok but eml still on so went for a drive to nearest petrol station which is 1.5 miles away. Put £30 worth of diesel in hoping that this would clear the limp mode!!

Well it didn't!! probably wishful thinking tbh hoping it was due to low fuel!!

Anyways. Gonna go outside in a min & disconnect battery for a while & see if that helps

    Craig

Im not a pro by any means? - But reading about all the others problems and things ...this sounds like the dreaded Swirl flap problem? - Inlet manifold etc etc ...

No doubt someone with more knowledge can give you the heads up, but it sure sounds like it.

If it is I understand there is a £1 fix? (temp) or its quite an expensive job iirc.
