Default New Air Filter = More MPG

Changed the air filter last weekend and did the air box mod , my previous mpg was consistant at 36-37 mpg as i drive the same 25 mile journey to a from work everyday which includes 8 miles of B roads and the remaining 17 miles on dual carriage way.
I replaced the filter for a standard one and now my MPG is.........

    Well chuffed.........40mpg

Well I guess the new filter was clean. So naturally it will increase MPG as its a clean, easily breathing filter.

How accurate is your trip computer? Mine usually sits between 40-45mpg while the actual fuel consumption is 35-38mpg
