Main Beam bulb .... type H1 !?

I changed my dipped beam bulb this week to the Philips H7 BlueVision.

Took about 5/10 mins... no headlight removal and no cut hands... nowhere near as painful as I anticipated after reading some threads

I had a look at the main beam bulbs and most sites and posts suggest that these should be H7s but they certainly didn't look like it (facelift SRi). They looked a lot thinner and longer ..... very similar to the H1s in this picture...

Anyone shed any light on this ? (no pun intended, well maybe a little bit

)

Not sure, but I've got a facelift too, so I'd be interested to know the answer. I just assumed they were H7's... glad i didn't just go out and buy!

On the facelift its:

Main beam: H1
Dipped beam: H7

on the pre-facelift both are H7

So whats the physical difference between an H1 and an H7 bulb?.

It's just that I have a complete HID kit sat here removed from my Calibra, which used H1 bulbs in the dipped beam. They "look" like they would physically fit the headlight bulb position.

Nah......forget that, just had another look and the bulbs are very different.

Guess the HID kit will be going on eBay then.
