Default Traction Control and ABS question

    Hi all,

In my quest to know all about the Vectra, do all have traction control?

I understand some fit switches to turn it off, but im certain mine doesnt. It popped a nasty wheelspin in the wet the other day and nothing came on.

    (2006 55 2.2 SRI)

I also notice the ABS is quite sensitive if you brake hard, more so than my previous cars.

Probably not. The real way - not 100% - to tell is open the bonnet, and behind the battery compartment there is the ABS module (silver box with tubes coming out of it) if you look at the side which faces the engine block I believe it will say 'TC'. It will tell you have ESP or not at least anyway.

As Gazza says, the label on the side of the ABS module will tell you.

If it says ESP, you have ABS, Traction Control and ESP
If it says ABS and TC, you have ABS and Traction Control and no ESP
If it says ABS only you have ABS but no Traction Control and no ESP.

    Simples.

Cool cheers i dont care either way, never really found traction control on any car useful in any situation other than in heavy snow/ice. was just interested to know if something isnt functioning.

going to be making a few adjustments on the weekend so will take a look then.

If they're Goodyear NCT5's, that'll be the reason. They offer poor grip - hence why they last a long time.

Get shot of the ditch finders (No Contact With Tarmac) for some tyres that will give you some grip.

NCT5's are OK unless you drive the car like you stole it.
