Hey, can you imagine that on a Signum!!

Sat in the back in a nice reclining seat with looooads of legroom as the car drives itself!! I'd love to see Clarkson's face when he saw somebody sat in the back and it being driven without crashing it!!

A mod you could do with eh D

GM claims the system, called Traffic Assist, will make driving safer and more relaxing. It uses lasers, a video camera and plenty of computing power to "see" signs, bends, other vehicles and lane markings, and to control the engine, steering and brakes to keep the car in the correct position on the road and maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front.

    Sorry m8, just had to did'nt i

So, if the system can't completely see around a bend, does it default to crawling speed.

Would it combine 'what it sees' with Satelite Navigation so that it would have

'what it sees & what it knows' ???

My question would be..... can it predict? or does it just react...., if so, it would still require the driver to be alert and ready to disengage the system.

So you wouldnt be able to just completely switch off and read the newspaper !!

I can't help but wonder if GM will issue a disclaimer with every vehicle sold?

I can imagine 'people' hiring one out and doing some jackass stunts in it.

Set system to auto - climb out drivers window - clamber over roof - climb in passenger window - jump back in drivers seat.
