    Make: VAUXHALL
    Model : Vectra C and Signum
    Launch Date : 6/14/2006
    Numbers Involved : 1220
    Build Start Date : 1/1/2004
    Build End Date : 12/30/2006

    Details

    Concern : HEATED WASHER NOZZLE MAY SHORT CIRCUIT
    Description : It is possible that moisture may enter the heated washer nozzle housing and cause a short circuit of the heating elements. In the worse case a fire may ensue.
    Remedial Action : Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to disconnect the heated washer nozzle housings.

    Fire! Sh!t. Not heard of that one but mate had his GSI recalled cos it only had half a vin number!

    Yep, heard of that one. They just disconnect (cut I think!) the part of the circuit that provides the heat and send you on your way with normal unheated nozzles!!! No remedy or rectification, just disconnect them!

    When this recall was first announced dealers were instructed to disconnect the wiring as it could cause a smell in the cabin. They then had to wait for further instruction from Vauxhall which was announced a couple of days later once the parts needed were available.

    The remedy was:-

    Modify wiring with heatshrink material.

    The tech at my stealer said it was still disconnected though, he gave me the Vauxhall mod sheet to read, did not get the chance to read it all as the service manager appeared and the tech did not want to be seen showing me the instructions.

    Almost certain this is the mod posted by Vauxhall to fit heatshrink.

    Are heated washer nozzles standard on all Vectra 'c's or just some models? Would my 2.2SRi have them? Not sure what I'd be looking for really!
