    Default 1.8 petrol vectras

    hi guys looking at changing my golf gttdi 3door for a vectra 1.8petrol due to my missus having baby in july,my question is are there dual mass flywheels on petrol vectras as this is something i want to stay away from due to cost etc.any areas which i need to look for apart from the usually belt changes and the servicing.i only do 7-8000 a year so dont want another diesel it just doesnt pay at the moment

    Nope no DMF on the petrols. Nothing spectacular to look for, Listen for clunking from the front which could be ARB bushes or Stabilizer bars, both cheap and easy fixs. Clunks from the rear could ARB bushes or Upper control arms.
    Timing belt is 6 years or 60K, service items are pretty cheap, even from your local VX dealer, an oil filter is less than £4, which is about the same as motor factor.

    The 1.8 has a solid flywheel, no dmf's here

    Worry? Nah, it's got no EGR valve, no swirl valves, no timing belt, no problems with oil nozzles being too small, and no HPFP issues.
