Default 2.2 Direct Post Cat Lambda Sensor!!!

My 2.2 Direct SRi Vectra keeps firing up fault code P0141.

    P0141 - o2 Sensor Heater Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2

According to my local dealer it is the post cat lambda sensor!

Obviously it is after the cat but can anyone tell me exactly where it is (pictures if possible) and does anyone know how easy it is to change myself?

    Cheers Tom

you will find it under the car near the flexi section of the forward end of centre exhaust pipe, so basically its just below the stereo area if that helps. The wire however will feed up the back of the engine bay to the connector. You can remove the sensor yourself but you may find it is well and truly rusted in. Jack the car up as high as you can (using stands of course) to give yourself the maximum amount of elbow room, get a big spanner on the thing and give a good hard sharp pull I can't remember the spanner size but i think it was either 18 or 22mm. You can try some WD40 on it for a day beforehand, it will not do any harm but it will stink a bit if you run the engine. The lambda sensor itself can sometimes just be cleaned with carb or brake cleaner and probably be fine to use afterwards, other people have unscrewed it and left it in a jar of vinegar overnight then cleaned it off with carb cleaner and its been like new..

Cheers for the reply's. It's the heater circuit within the sensor that has gone so i assume that it will still be the same. I'm not getting it from Vauxhall at £155. There is a car parts specialist in Scunthorpe and with trade discout i can get it for £40 so i think i'm just gonna change it!

for that price i would change it as well.. be sure its the correct type for a vauxhall those and not just a generic sensor..
