    Default Bulb Failure in Dash

Was driving home from dropping the wife to work and noticed that the bulb failure light has come on. Ive checked round the vehicle and every light seems to be working as it should. It may be worth noting that i have recently changed the layout of the rear lights as per the 'Lawson Tecnique' (or at least I think thats what it has been named). I did this to great success almost 2 weeks ago and did not experience any problems though I thought it worth mentioning.

Hope I havent repeated a question previously asked....anyone got any ideas?

Double check your brake lights. If the normal tail/brake light fails, then the 2nd tail light takes over the role of tail/brake light.

Also I find that mine will show a warning. But all the bulbs are ok. Then later the warning will come back on and a bulb has now gone.

I'm having the same problem. The dash is telling me I have a bulb problem, but they all seem to be working (brake and tail included). I do have 1 other strange problem though which may be the cause....

When starting up the car with the lights on, my front right indicator lights up and stays on for about 5-10 seconds, or sometimes until I pull away. Once I have the lights on and the warning bulb goes off, I don't get the warning any more. However, if I don't have the lights on, the warning bulb goes on and off with no set pattern, and I can't seem to get rid of it.

    Anybody got any suggestions?

Front indicator comes on in the event of sidelight failure.

You've either got a poor connection or the sidelight bulb is about to fail.

That'll be the indicators you're checking mate...

Because the computer measures the resistance of the bulb filament to check it's serviceability, as the bulbs starts to go it's resistance changes enough to set off the warning, but the bulb itself still works. Eventually, as has been said, it will fail completely. Worth checking to see if any of them are looking blacker than they should as it's only a couple of minutes to take the holders out of the lights themselves...

I've changed both side lights, but still have the warning, and the front right indicator stays lit when first starting up for a bit. Any other suggestions what could be causing this?
