2007 Vectra 1.9 CDTi (120bhp)
So had two faults on the car within the last week:
1. EML light - diagnosed as EGR valve
2. Battery light - diagnosed as alternator
The garage replaced the alternator but only cleaned the EGR. The EGR fault is not causing the car to go into limp mode and doesn't appear to be having any adverse effects on the running.
A couple of days after I get the car back, bang the EML light is back on. Now what would happen if I just ignored it? I'm not going to be replacing the car anytime soon and I can live with the light provided it's not going to cause too many problems.
I have read something about their being a solenoid on the other side but that can't be too much to replace?
Don't get me wrong I'll buy a replacement EGR, possibly this one:

It just seems daft to get it done now when there doesn't actually appear to be a problem...or is it?
