    Default how many liters in a gallon

    The gallons are Imperial Gallons - not U.S.
    (1 Imp Gal = 1.201 US Gal = 4.546 litres)

    ive always done 4.5 but is it worked of 1.2 in this country just seen that above so not sure now

    just noticed it say 1.2 liters for imperial gallon thought it say 4.2 liters.silly me.

    Correct, I used to work in bulk fuels, 4.54609 was the one we used to use for calculations (military)

    US Imperial measures are approx 20% less than ours - a pint is 16 fl.oz, a quart is 32 fl. oz, didn't know that until I went to Chicago 5 years ago.

    They don't use our language properly either in the USA.

    Most of world works with 4.54 - pretty standard. As for the imperial and metric there should be a standard - either all metric or all imperial.
