    Default Pre cat

Will there be any point decatting the car if im not replacing the precat? would an exhaust place like mij be able to make me one up as its already booked in there for dual exit and decat ?

Would i notice any difference from just a decat? its being remapped the next day at mpg which is why i was keen to have it done before. mpg want £250 for a precat

you will indeed see gains by removing any or both cats & even better if you do it prior to the remap

Your precat is just before the down pipe.
    Just below the turbo.
If you need to do it quick. Undo the down pipe and drill and smash the honey cone out.
Be careful of the lamda at the top.

I had a de-cat done on my GSI and TBH I havenít noticed any difference whatsoever (on performance, noise or MPG). As the precats themselves are so restrictive I donít think any gains can be had unless you remove them all!

Its a bit harder to replace the Pre-Cat and I do not think that MIJ could do that.
There is a special pipe available from Scorpion (£140 plus £10 ebay).

I have yet to fit mine as it going on when the upgraded turbo is being fitted, hopefully next weekend

You would have to approach the job from below, ideally on a ramp and might have to remove the plastic under tray. Mine is going on with the new turbo so the whole of the front of the car is coming off, Bumper, rads etc.

I am sure it would be ok to do on a ramp. I think a few members have already done it without any issues but it might be worth asking.

If your car doesn't have a DPF you won't have a pre cat.
