Default its the top strut sleeve right???

hi , had a knocking from front n/s for a while now , had a new drop link put in , bottom ball joint seems tight enough , when car is jacked up I can move the wheel side to side and the whole suspenion strut twists about an inch so is it the plastic bearing/sleeve ?
also can I just undo the 3 torx on strut mount and drop it down to fit sleeve ? cheers

You need to remove the strut, compress the spring with spring clamps.
Then remove your top mount and check it.
Before you do that check for up and down movement.

well it turned out to be the bottom ball joint so replaced the wishbone/control arm now its solid
now i've ended up with a brand new strut top bearing and 2 x strut top mounts surplus .
if any you vec-c chaps are after such items please PM me as they will go on an auction site tomorrow .
    cheers
