Default Will play in engine mounts cause AC leak

    Hi.
    New member, long time reader.
I have just bought the car I have wanted for may years, a Vectra CDTI(150) elite, 57 reg, but now I have run it for a week my excitement had turned to disappointment . I love the car but there is just a couple of problems with it. Firstly the auto lights seems to be on all the time, from reading posts I think this is because of a screen replacement. I think it has had a new screen because it is not heat shield one, or what ever it is called and as far as I was aware all Elite models came with them as standard. I am going to attempt to remove the plastic clip on the screen and realign it as I want them to work properly. The main problem is the AC does not work. There is NO gas in it and with it being 3 years old I assume it is a leak.I also think the engine mounts may be on their way out as the engine rocks a little, could this be as it looks like it has towed a caravan as it has a tow bar with twin electrics. My main question is will the engine mount cause the AC leak as the engine is moving and the AC pipes are static. Are there 2 bottom engine mounts, front and rear as I can only see a front one, only had a quick look mind and also there seems to be a few bottom front mounts on fleabay so does that mean these are a common failure.
Sorry for it being a long post

    Thanks in advance

More common causes of AC leaks is due to the condenser rotting away at the bottom and falling apart. Only a leak test will prove the exact cause of failure.

The AC pipes between the engine and body are flexible rubber hoses, so even if the engine mounts are faulty (which I doubt), the hoses will allow free movement without causing a leak.

I have just got my AC re gassed at Kwik rip, £29 mind so I might start calling them Kwik fit again. It seems to be working fine and has held it's gas since Friday morning, now Tuesday. hope for a cheap and easy solution, I feel it will all leak out over the summer mind. going for a leak sealer next time if it leaks as if it has a leak it can't be to big.
