    Default Going to see an Astra-H today, advice needed please!

    Folks,

    Im going to look at an Astra H today for the wife (to replace her Astra-G), its a 1.6 Petrol model on a 2005 with 60'ish K miles, and some history, etc too.

    I think its a Club model, so noting extravagent, just plain Jane type car.

    Are there any thing in particular that I need to look out for?
    Are there any horror stories about the Astra-H?
    - Engine;
    - Interior;
    - Gearbox;
    - Suspension?

    Any help and advice ASAP would be great.

    Thanks in advance and I look forward to the replies.

    Oh, and current owners of similar models please also comment on ownership opinions and basic review, etc.

    Bye bye Vec B

    To be honest they are pretty bullet proof, its just the usual checks to be carried out. Friend of the Mrs' had one that went through a couple of inner CV boots, could have been "one of those things" but worth checking they are intact.

    Make sure you test the wipers as I know a few mates who have had wipers that hit the scuttle trim ( bend easily if wipers are used when frozen to screen)

    We had a 2.0 turbo.We had to have the SIM unit replaced as the horn wasn't working when the lights were on.I believe this is now on recall *vehicles are Astra and Zafira from Model Year 2004 to Model Year 2010*.Thats the only real problem we had.We would have kept the astra if it did't drink so much fuel.

    Cheers for the info guys. I have been to see the car, just now trying to negotiate a deal.

    It seems a decent model, has the EW/EM/RCL/Trip Comp/Alloys, etc.
