Default Remap not possible - Gutted!

Set off for MPG this morning, 2 hour drive and 104 miles later arrived at 0930. 5 hours later im told it cant be remapped!!

Apparently my car has the very latest 09 ECU and EDS say its got an anti tuning software running on it. Car is a 1.8VVTi.

They couldn't get past the security at first but after an update cracked it, then it comes up with "No Tuning Available", apparently they have never seen this before.

    Gutted!!

Was considering mine for a remap although it hasn't been to VX since 09 fingers crossed they were too lazy to include the latest software. Haven't heard of this before though, sure there is a way around it.

yeah they need my ecu for 3 days and then upload the data to EDS and see what they can do. Its to do with the type fitted or something, what a disappointment that was!

It should be possible to remap the car if the ECU is removed and opened up.
You could always get a tuning box :P

Is there a tuning box for the 1.8 petrol?

It was £330 for upto 25 bhp increase, i understand it wont be near that but it should improve performance, economy and stuff. Make it more pokey!

you would no way get a 25bhp increase on a N/A petrol motor with just a remap

Thats why I said it would be no where near that! I did honest ! Its more to make it more responsive and better to drive. If I wanted 200Bhp id buy a new car lol

Plus I dont just have a remap and its putting out 156Bhp at the Mo! as of last sunday anyway!

I don't think they would do a tuning box for yours no but a gas conversion mayadd some power along with being cheaper to run. You would have to want to keep the car for a while for it to save you any money though.
