Left job,how much holiday pay am i entitled to?

Ive just started a new job and im trying to sort out with the old company how much holiday pay im entitled to.Basically i got paid weekly and we got 20 days holiday from jan to dec.I used half a days hol and there telling me im only going to be paid for 1.2 days?..Now how should this be worked out?is it 20days divided by 52 weeks which works out at .385 then multipled by the 7 weeks i worked this year = 2.7 days.

Can anybody tell me if this is the correct way to do it.

sounds about right mate we get 1.75 days holliday entitlement per month =21 days per year

From my experience it is 20 days in your case, add on all statutory days as well divide by 12 months as they accrue in a monthly basis.
divide the figure by twelve so technically, they are probably right as you didn't complete the second month.

I may be wrong and it may be weekly, but I have always been told it is per calender month for these things.

I'd ask them how they got to that figure.

I reckon 1.66 days due minus your half day equals 1.16 days. Holiday entitlement is worked out monthly , if you accrue 20 days holiday a year your are entitled to 20/12 each month.

If you are paid weekly, then it should be for each completed week
If you are paid monthly, then it should be for each completed month

You will need to refer to the Contract Of Employment for number of days holiday entitlement
The minimum is 28 days
This includes public holidays, irrespective of when they are in the year
