    Default true or false....

who knows there stuff when it comes to headunits.

got speaking to the parts guy whilst i was waiting for my car to be brought around and i asked if the factory h/unit had to be programmed out of the car, he said that only if the security and radio code and the SAME on the car pass.

so i checked mine as i ordered the single din adapter kit which comes with the ISO adpater (£25). the codes on mine are different, which means that it doesn't have to tech 2'd out of the car in order to be used in another.

    Eh?!

From what I know, it's only the newer HUs (CD30, CD70 etc) that need to be Tech 2'd before removing. The older units, CDR2005, CCR2006 etc can just be removed.

so i'm safe either way then.

going by what your saying then D, the code on the car pass for the radio and security must all be different for the 2005's, 2006's???

If it's a CDR2005/CCR2006 then yes, no worries.

Not sure. I can't think why they would make the radio code and immobiliser code intentionally the same. I think it'd be just down to sheer coincidence if they were and your dealer may be talking out of his behind! I stand to be corrected though!

Yes, but if you try and put it in another car, it won't work as it hasn't been Tech 2'd out of the original car.
