hi guys hope you can help,
I'm wondering if its possible to fit a vx built in sat nav to my sri. its got a cd30 radio and normal display. What would i need to upgrade to the built in unit and how long would it take to fit?

    hi m8

you need the cd70,cid,rgb cable and a nav aerial from ebay, not sure wot
there called but only cost 10 pound ) make sure you buy them both together
already paired then all you need to do is remove your cd30 and
display and fit ya cd70 and cid in and it will work no problem.

doing the above will take no more than 10 mins to swap over

the only time when you have problems is if you buy the cd70 and cid
seperately as they wont be programmed to each other.

This is a mod I'm looking to do, from my CCR2006 with GID, to a CD70 with CID

I'm not too fussed about the steering wheel controls, and don't have ECC (pre-face SRi model), so that shouldn't be a problem. I guess it will work of the stalk controls like the CCR2006 I have does?

You will need the correct Half CAN Colour Display.

    (Not a full CAN display)

You will need to add additional colour display wires and the second small connector that is only used for the colour display.
Monochrome GID has onlyone rear socket.

Then the correct programming to pair everything up.

The stalk is only for Half CAN vehicles.

If you don't have scroller controls - then all functions can be easily operated via the radio facia.
That is all I do... wife's has no controls yet.

You will need to get a whole rack of components

    1) CD 70 and Display

    2) Fakra sat nav aerial from fleabay

    3) SOT122s or ISO2CAR conversion lead (converts ISO to Quadlock)

    4) If you have an 18 pin connector on your display, then you need to get a 32 pin connector.

    5) Rewire the screen connector per Bigmac's How 2 (TID to GID)

    6) Then you will need to swap the power wires round on the display plug

    7) If you are fitting a CID, then you will need the RGB cable.

    8) You will need an aerial converter plug - convert to Fakra from original Vx plug.
