Default Any pc wizards on here?

Ive got a windows 7 64bit laptop, that i added a 2nd hd too and installed vista 32bit as some programs i used wouldnt work on it.

Anyway recently the 2nd hard drive has failed so i removed it, now i am still left with the options for selecting windows 7 or windows vista, Its nt a major problem but more of a pest to keep seeing it.

Ive tried a few things to remove the option but, 1 of them removed the ntldr, and the other didnt do anything. I managed to repair the ntldr but still have the options.

any advice on how to remove would be welcome

    cheers

you could check the bios isn't looking for the 2nd hdd in the boot sequence - replace it with the dvd/cd drive instead and it may resolve things!

    hope you get it sorted!

Windows 7 uses BCDedit to edit boot options, no longer has a boot.ini. You need to remove the option for the second OS install.

This is the GUI tool http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1

Or else its command line all the way.

Be very careful or you could end up breaking it!

    Another option would be:

Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > Startup and Recovery Settings >

Then Select "Windows 7" from the OS list, and untick the option to display a list of operating systems

i found it usefull, as a lot of the programs i use are not compatable with 64bit, and didnt want to ruin the main os
