Knocking from Drivers side front

Hi all,

Quick post before she goes in for a look over at the local garage. The car has suffered from a creaking at the front end for a while and when she recently went in for a thermostat repair i got them to check the bushes on the front. They said that they were slightly perished and should be done at the next service. Fair enough i thought.

However popping out yesterday i noticed a different sound from the driver front, when turning left the sound was like a single loud clonk much like someone hitting something metal and solid with a metal hammer. This happens now when taking left turns, particularly if they are bumpy. It can also occur when taking very shallow left turns. I'm suspecting one of the bushes may have completely gone causing the components to bang against each other ratehr than be dampened by the bushes. Possible? or could it be something more sinister?

A quick look under the car didn't show anything obvious at all.

Sounds like a damaged spring

Yeah i though possibly a damaged spring. Rea don here it could be the top strut bearing. Haven't jacked the car up yet and taken a look so i'll do that whilst its still light out.
