Thumbs up Injector replacement party with the V6CDTi

Set about replacing the injectors of my car on Saturday Pardon my faulty lights and brake-pad light

This is a cold start with old injectors on day D

After 4hours of screwing around all 6 injectors were out and replaced with new ones. This is the immediate result. Starts up funny

This however, is a proper cold start with the new injectors. I think it sounds much better.

I have to say that the engine runs much better under acceleration and only smokes a bit when close to redline (in 3rd gear only ). I'm a happy bunny now Fuel consumption has also improved, whereas power remains unchanged

This is definitely something I recommend to anyone who can source injectors for a good price, otherwise just forget it...these are 750€ a pop from a dealer

You got a part number Celes? Are they the same for the Y30DT and the Z30DT?

    I've 18 injectors for the Y30DT at home (6 bad, 6 unknown, and 6 good-ish) but unfortunately they won't fit the Z30DT.

Did you have to Tech 2 the injectors in?
Did you try an injector cleaning additive first before you changed the injectors?

Seems a bit strange they should all need replacing at once.

Didn't need to use Tech2 to make the new injectors work
Tried various additives and none helped with the slight smoke issue...and anyway the old injectors weren't all that bad I replaced all 6 only because I got a bargain...450€ for the lot...brand new Wouldn't have touched them otherwise

I thought you had to tech 2 new injectors in as the way they are made means they all have different fuel flows. There should be an ident number or something which tells you the flow value which is then programmed into the car.

By not doing this it could cause damage to the car and poor fuelling/performance.

There are some numbers on injectors M4 M25 M13 M12 etc. (old ones were L), but I was told by the dealer it won't matter. The 1.9CDTi does need them coded though.
