Fitting HID's today. The metal clip's that come with kit are they needed. Just that my standard bulbs never had any clips and are just pushed in. Are clips just for the pre-facelift or am i just fitting incorrectly???? Help lol

I managed to get the clips to fit, its take some elbow grease.
I fitted without but one worked loose after 2 weeks.
so striped all the air box and crap out and had a go again, used thin nose pliers in the end ( you will bend the clip but it will hole the bulb in tight )
lots of trail and error
I used my old halogen one as a test first ( so not to damage the hid bulb )
hope that helps ( I have the 2.8 v6 ) so f**k all room in engine bay !

Standard bulb was just a push in fit though, there was no clip???
Do the metal clips just push in or do you push in and twist???
Just fit a standard bulb back in and it just pushes back into place and locks with sort of spring loaded clips (opposite sides) that are sort of built into headlight (if that makes sense)
I had to use the clips, but I have a pre facelift. They just twist into place, but cos they have a slit in them to put the wires through they sometimes bend and makes it a little awkward to fit them.
Excellent. Thank you. I told HIDS direct i had a 57 plate when ordering and obviously i received the metal clips in the box. Was worried i had them for a reason. I have fitted the HID kit in car without clips. At least now i know that is correct.
Just make sure you get them clipped right in and orientated the correct way! I ran mine for months wondering what all the fuss with HID's was... Then checked them, moved them around and firmly clipped them in place... I then saw the light!!
