Question Airbag replacement - NSF (front passenger airbag)

one of my little projects came to halt today. I was fitting new seats, pre-tensioners, airbag ecu and a front passenger airbag. All was going well until i found out the airbag I had been supplied was for an Astra and not the Vectra C it was advertised for. I have written the supplier concerned via ebay and fingers crossed they will offer to send me the advertised item i had paid for...

However upon searching ebay for other passenger airbags, very few suppliers take pics that show any detail to enable me to say for sure that they have what i need, other than one... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vectra-C-Signu...item43a549e56f

what is the relevance of the 'ident code' on this.. As the car i am working on came without a dash or airbags I have no idea what the airbag ident was previously..? The airbag ECU in this car had a DW code printed on it....

the ebay seller i linked to above and he says "the ident PAA is for all signums by the looks of it but not all vectra's"

So that answers that question... it is relevant... Just hope that people I need to return this Astra airbag to can supply the correct type if i give them the chassis number..

There should be only two versions, single plug (half canbus 2002-2005) and double plug (full canbus 2005 onwards)

cheers guys, that confuses a few things but will enable to make sure the next one is the correct type. the guy on ebay checked my chassis number against it and said hi advertised PAA type was correct for me... the PAA type in the pic is for a two connector airbag which is the type I require..

Okies as per PM, Signums only ever had from early to current models just the ONE type of airbag fitted ident PAA whereas vectras had two types.

OKies, lets try to put this one to rest One stage only has one dentonator whereas two stage has two seperate dentonator built into the airbag, why?, I dont know.... Maybe so as to give a better/more even explosive force to launch the airbag as apposed to on detonator mounted centrally in it and also depending on the airbag ECU's decision of the severity of impact

Reason for only ever being a 'two' stage one is that the Signum came out around 04/05 I believe or thereabouts when vauxhall did away with the single stage systems in the Vectra. So therefore ALL signums only have the two stage fitted.

    Single stage/two stage..

good info bud... that clears up all questions on this matter... i understand what the difference is now... my original supplier has offered to replace the incorrecgt airbag he sent me airbag for the correct type which i can now properly explain to him... I appreciate your tsking the time and looking this up for me.. that info which i have not found elsewhere will be sure to help somebody else in the future as well.
