    Just read an article in this weeks AutoExpress where they did a manufacturer's tyre test.

    Tests conducted included......
    a) Aquaplaning
    b) Wet Handling
    c) Braking
    d) In-Car Noise
    e) Dry Handling
    f) Price

    Tyres tested were

    1) Avon ZV3 V
    2) Bridgestone B250 H
    3) Continental PremiumContact2 H
    4) Dunlop SP Sport 01 V
    5) Goodyear Hydragrip V
    6) Hankook Optimo K406 H
    7) Marangoni Vanto V
    8) Marshal Matrac XM V
    9) Matador Elite MP42 V
    10) Maxxis Surpasa MA-V1 V
    11) Michelin Pilot Primacy V
    12) Pirelli P6 H
    13) Toyo Proxes CF1 V
    14) Vredestein Sportrac 3 V
    15) Yokohama C.drive V

    Results were

    Vredstein scored highly last year too. Wasn't the Hydragrip one of the top tyres too?

    Michelin Primacy is about 15 years old now - just been replaced by a new tyre who's name escapes me.

    good info.... it's a shame they picked the 'comfort tyres' from both Toyo and Yokohama.
    i'd put my house on the Toyo T1 series and the Yoko A539's scoring higher than most of those. (although i do conceed they would both probably loose out on price and road noise)

    Should of tested the Toyo T1R tyres. They are awesome IMO!

    Bridgestone B250 is the **** of the range too. It's the same sort of tyre as the Pirelli P3000. Last time I saw a B250 it was factory fit on a Skoda Felicia...

    I had Continental Premium Contacts on my 16" steelies and have to say they never stop gripping, last well and are really quiet.
