    Default getting around the display safe

    i purchased a display from ebay last week, when i went to fit it it just came up with display safe as it as not divorced form the head unit and would not program to my head unit, does anyone know of a way to get around this?

    btw its a 4 line bid from a 2008 car

    If you can,
    Ask the seller for the original audio pass number.. as you must have this .

    Then read further down this post with regard to theft protection.

    If he does not have the pass number, then you can go to someone with Tech-2, Op-Com or Vaux-Com..
    They can read the VIN Number from the Display Eeprom

    Then you can go to Vauxhall for an Audio Pass for the vehicle with the relevant VIN number.

    Cost for an audio pass is anywhere between £15 and £31..

    Then who-ever found the VIN number, could "disable Theft Protection" with the newly acquired audio pass number.

    Finally re-enable theft protection with your vehicle's audio pass number

    Or you can pay a smaller sum to have the display "RESET",
    however a total reset requires a total reprogram of the display and possbly the head-unit.

    No ideas of anyone in your area, but there are several agencies who advertise on the web..
