    Default Hub Changed

Took a good 2 1/2 hours with a proper trained mechanic watching over me and helping when needed.

Don't know if it is usual but the old one crumbled when it came out

New one on (eventually), plugged in and no more ABS / TC warning lights! MOT here I come!!

Word to the wise though - I was in a working garage with mechanic's to hand and their full plethora of tools and it took a good while! Best not to attempt this on your driveway if you are a novice!

On a side note - I need to get me a windy gun!! Took the strut off without one in about 20 minutes - with one and it was about 20 seconds!

Quite well possible on the driveway as I did but you do need to be moderately set up to do it.
Plasma's Tech2 services are now partially open and able to provide services

Hardest bit (for me) was getting the new one in, lived up and with the driveshaft in position. And I did say 'novice' - maybe I should have defined!

Just glad it didn't need tech2'ing to sort the lights.

Fair play for trying must be quite daunting attempting something like that for the first time

Did a front bearing recently, hardest job was removing the driveshaft. Had to use a puller to get the splines off.

I need to do my front left one soon as it's making some rather funny noises, can you tell me when you apply the hub puller which part moves? does the drive shaft move back out of the hub or does the hub/strut swing out ?

    Many thanks in advance

The driveshaft moves out of the hub. Obviously you have to disconnect bottom suspension balljoint to enable the hub come off. HTH

I didn't undo my ball joint, I took the strut off the hub (maybe the upside down way of doing it?)

Just remember to not let the driveshaft come out of the gearbox
