    Default Really Really Pished

our council seems to be unable to resurface roads properly - and prefers to cover them in a tarmacadem slurrey and gravel chippings.....

normally I avoid these roads like th plague when they do them...but I got caught out the other day and had to ride one.....

I was driving at 10mph, WELL behind the car infront, who was doing a similar speed, and I kept cringing at the stones hitting my car....I backed off a bit, but when I got home I inspected the damage.....

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The bonnet and bumper is covered!!!!!!!!!!!!

White flecks all over it.....I'm so pished....Is there any way I can sue the council - they're gonna get it this time - i'm so mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll post some pics soon, I can't believe how bad it is.........

I know how you feel they did the same on one of our roads just up past my house....never been up there since, also the path and some gardens are covered with the gravel also.....

Cheap roads but sky high tax.....

Last year, our works van followed a tarmac lorry and bits of hot tar hit our windscreen and melted small ruts in the windscreen. So when it rains on the windscreen the wipers can't clear the water very well.

My recent 'off' was caused by this method of resurfacing. The Traffic Management Officer came out and stated that the council are obliged to sweep it after they have finished. (They didn't).

If they didn't sweep it, you have a good case.

They couldn't have swept it - the amount of chips is pheonominal!!!

What should I do...get a written quote from VX for respraying the bumper and bonnet, and then forward it with a polite letter to the L.A.?

Inform them straight away. (take photos if possible). It's very, very difficult to get a council to admit responsibility. Worry about the cost at a later date.
